PARENTING HELP – helping parents and children bounce back
Parents who claim they would do anything for their children are often totally unaware of how much it hurts their children when they insist on expressing their anger and revenge toward an ex-spouse; it tears children apart to feel they must choose loyalty to only one. For the sake of your children, you need parenting help as this can help you deal with your own unresolved issues.
With parenting help, you will feel understood and validated for your feelings and mistakes while learning to understand your children's feelings. Parenting help is not there to make you feel guilty, but to help you work through your feelings and to deal with the broad range of crises that can hit any family – death, divorce, unemployment, serious injury and disease, amongst others.
Children do best with firm discipline combined with a lot of communication and affection. You may be tempted to over-indulge your children to make up for the pain they are going through because of a divorce; which can have terrible outcomes for children. Even a very strict approach seems to help children and teenagers more than a permissive style. Children need boundaries and limits, you need to be a parent, and not a friend.
You need parenting help, because if you are an unhappy parent, it will have a major impact on your children – they look to you for strength and support; it's frightening for children to see a parent lost to depression and lost to them emotionally.
Parenting help can be a powerful way for churches to encourage moms and dads to establish Christ-centered homes; and we are dedicated to providing today's parents and youth with relevant educational resources from a biblical perspective, and to also provide programs and literature that will help develop strong spiritual leaders in the next generation, able to handle whatever comes their way.
